1. The first term I could define would be DEAP film. This is most likely the term that I am going to go with. DEAP film is the backbone of my topic because it is the key component in creating the sensors that I will propose. Without an understanding of how this film works, the audience will most likely be lost.

I will be defining DEAP film. It is vital to know what this film is and how it works in order to understand my proposal.

1) Dynamic Difficulty Adjustment - this term is important to my problem as it engages the strong issue with many classes that are either "too easy" or "too hard" for different students in the class.

I think #1 or #3 would work -- #2 sounds like it'd go beyond definition significantly and may be much harder to fit into the assignment's parameters.

I'm actually going to abandon all three, as Danny strongly encouraged me to define "Ville-ify" (I have to work on that suffix to find something less evil-sounding), which is the process of turning something into a highly addictive and highly (intrinsic) rewarding Ville-esque game, such as FarmVille. This process, if adapted for classrooms, would be ideal.

I will be defining WIC. Many people know what the acronym stands for but they do not understand the fundamentals of WIC and the services provided by this organization.

1. Open: Open in terms of tech development, as in open source, open beta, and in reference to things like MIT's OpenCourseWare. It is generally in regard to how much information and access is available to the public, and how that affects software development.

I'd recommend going with #3. #1 could work, too, but #2 would require you to go beyond definition and may get too complicated for this assignment.

I will be defining Flipped Classroom, it is a relatively new term, I believe coined by Sal Khan and it is the basis for my beliefs in education.

For the purposed of my terms to make sense, i wanted to say that i slightly changed my topic, instead of bringing D.C. United to UMD campus I was thinking about contacting several members of the Baltimore Ravens to come to UMD to support anti-bullying, just like they have done in almost 30 other schools.

See my comments for Alex -- you'll need to check with your group members about these terms, which all may be familiar to them.

You may need to test your group's knowledge -- if they have tech knowledge, these all may be too basic. How about defining a specific language, maybe one that is new or unfamiliar?

Car lien - Some individuals are capable of buying a vehicle in full. For many students, financing is required as not many people have a large sum of money to put forward towards a car. A lien is where the financial institute has an agreement with the car-owner and enters a co-ownership agreement. For as long as money is owed on the car, the bank hold the title to the car.

1. Object-oriented: A characteristic of a class of a programming languages. Object-oriented languages focus on data structures called "objects," which are usually instances of a class. Each object class will typically have a set of methods including constructors, getter and setter methods for the object's fields (internal variables), and other methods to modify the object. Object-oriented programming frequently utilizes polymorphism and inheritance as a way to structure a project. Object-oriented languages include Java, Ruby, and C++.

You'll have to test your audience first for #1 or #2 -- if they have tech knowledge, these may be familiar terms already. I'm not sure what term you are defining in #3, as you list two.

I think it's likely that all three terms are familiar to an audience of college students. Try searching online for lesser known or less used terms.
